  2. Hello! This is Adrian Buczkowski. I was able to log in on the other website before May 27th, but I can’t get into the account now.
I read the book Tabula Rasa by Kristen Lippert-Martin. The main character, Sarah, is in a state of the art hospital to have her memory wiped away. As the story begins, Sarah doesn’t remember why she is having her memory wiped away. She just knows that the nurses in the hospital look at her warily and are very secretive. She isn’t allowed to look at anything that might remind her of her past, even her own reflection. During one of her memory wiping surgeries, the power is interrupted, and a mysterious person gives her a packet of pills along with a note. Because of power and interruption and the approach of a blizzard, her procedure is stopped.
Later that evening, an unidentified helicopter lands at the hospital facility and soldiers emerge, shooting and asking for Sarah’s location. Sarah manages to stay hidden, and in the process, meets someone that may help her piece together the clues about her past. I don’t want to give the ending away, but things are not as they seem as Sarah begins to discover the real reasons why she is in the facility and why someone is trying to kill her.
I recommend this book for readers that enjoy a fast-paced book with a good plot.

  3. Hello, this is Niranjan Anoop. Today, I will be blogging about a book called Life, the Universe, and Everything, written by Douglas Adams. This is the third sequel of the novel: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which is very well-known book. Anyways, my dad gave me this book because he believed I would like it, and I do. It starts off with the main character, Arthur Dent, a typical Englishman wearing a bathrobe, being stranded on a prehistoric Earth due to events in the previous books. This involves Arthur’s Earth being blown up, and him exploring areas of the galaxy unknown to man. He soon meets up with his friend Ford Prefect, a person who Arthur previously thought was a human, but is an alien from the planet Betelguese. Eventually, they used a couch that was a disturbance in the fabric of space-time to travel to the future to the year 198-something, two days before Earth is destroyed by the alien race called the Vogons (this book is weird). Arthur and Ford find their friend Slartibartfast, the alien Vice-President of the Campaign for Real-Time (basically a group for the stability of Time). He warns them that the aliens from the planet Krikkit (A reference to the English sport called Cricket) seek to destroy the Universe. This is because their planet and sun is surrounded by a dust cloud, so the Krikkitiers couldn’t see space. They thought they were alone, and liked that idea. When they found out there was other life out there, they wanted to destroy it. In general, they started a war, their planet and sun were shielded from the outside world as a punishment, and they were able to send out killer robots to retrieve the key to free them. So, it is up Arthur, Ford, Slartibartfast, along with Zephod Beeblebrox (A two-headed three-armed space guy), Trillian (his girlfriend), and Marvin (an intelligent but broken robot) to prevent the Krikkitiers from destroying the universe.
All in all, this is a great book with its many satirical and ridiculous moments that made me laugh. For example: There is an immortal alien named Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged who hates the universe so much, he decided to insult everyone in existence! There were many words I didn’t know, but I was able to figure them out. I hope you have a good time reading this!

  7. Hello this is Gabriel Lechuga, I read the book Predator: South China Sea; Nightmare in the jungle. There are many main characters including Nikolai, Marikova, Maxim, Rath, Gustat, Horia, and Coluhoun. Many of them are killed my the predator, an extra-terrestrial being that travels through the universe searching for the most challenging hunts. They are physically and technologically superior to humans. All of the main characters have come to a private and illegal hunting lodge to hunt large game such as rhinoceros, bears, lions, and just about any other large game you could imagine. Then the hunters become the hunted. The predator picks off Rath’s army one by one and is nearly impossible to see due to its light bending camouflage. It also uses tactics to confuse and disorient it’s prey such as destroying electrical systems. Though it may seem like it kills everything it won’t kill prey that is unhealthy or unarmed. They also believe in a fair hunt. The people have decided to wait for the supply plane as a chance of survival, up until the predator rips the battery out of the wing and blows it up. After that it’s every human for themselves. Predator: South China Sea was a great book with lots of action. I really enjoyed this book because it was definitely a survival of the fittest book with a lot of suspense. This is an adult book and if you want to read it run it by your parents first.

  8. Hello. This is Max Scanlon. Recently I read the book The Fall of Five. It is the fourth book in the I am Number Four series.
The main characters are Four, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ella, Sam, and Sarah. Four, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, and Ella are aliens sent to Earth to escape their dying planet, Lorien. They are trying to save Earth from another race of aliens called the Mogadorians. The Mogadorians were also the ones to take over their home planet. Each number was sent to a different part of Earth when they arrived. There were originally ten, but One, Two, and Three were killed. Five has not been found. The main characters are trying to find Five.
All of the main characters, except for Sam, live in a penthouse base in Chicago. When they receive a message from Five that says he is in Arkansas, Four, Six, and Sarah go there to meet him. When they get there they have to fight some Mogadorians to rescue Five. It is then that they are reunited with Sam who has been missing since the end of the second book. Sam also has his dad, who also had been missing, with him.
After they returned to the penthouse with Five and Sam, they continue to train for upcoming battles. During the training, Five reveals the location of his Loric chest, a gift given to each Loric when they were sent to Earth. Six, Seven, Eight, and Nine are sent with Five to retrieve it. In their absence Four and Sarah find out that someone has been leaking information to the Mogadorians. Shortly after, Four and Ella fall into a coma thought to be induced by the Mogadorian leader. Sam is then warned by a friend that the Mogadorians are going to attack the penthouse. They do attack and end up kidnapping Ella because Four decides to save Sam's dad, who is gravely wounded, instead of Ella.
I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes action or sci-fi books.

  9. Hello this Niranjan Anoop and today I will be blogging about a book called: “Shouldn’t You Be in School?” by Lemony Snicket. This is actually the third book in the “All the Wrong Questions” series. It’s better to check the first and second book before you read this one so the story makes more sense. Anyway, here it is.
The story opens up in a small town called Stain’d-by-the-Sea, which contains a secret organization called the Inhumane Society, who is intent on kidnapping children and doing something unknown with them. It is run by a man only known as Hangfire, and he has the uncanny ability to imitate anyone’s voice. Fortunately, there is another organization who tries to stop crime all around the world. They are currently called the “Volunteer Fire Department” (yes, I know it sounds unusual). They recruited two people to end the crime in Stain’d-by-the-Sea : Lemony Snicket (yes, it is the name of the author) a 12 year-old boy who is underestimated by adults but is quite cunning and determined to stop crime, and S. Theodora Markson, a not-so cunning “chaperone” to Snicket.
So, here’s the gist: Recently, there was a case of arson (the criminal act of deliberately setting a property on fire) of a building in the town, and Markson and Snicket were contacted by the town’s supposed department of education (though, there is only one school in the town) saying that they were concerned whether the school would be set on fire. The department’s building seemed sort of weird, fake. Later, another building (a house) was burned down, then the town’s school was also burned down (surprisingly, the town librarian was blamed for all of this.) The children of the school were moved to another one called Wade Academy. There will be a lot of the town’s children there, perfect for the Inhumane Society. So, it is up to Lemony Snicket, S. Theodora Markson (she gives up), Moxie Mallahan (an aspiring newsgirl), Cleo Night (a brilliant chemist from the previous book), Jake Hix (Cleo’s boyfriend and a good cook), and Ellington Feint (A girl who is a helping Snicket or Hangfire, no one is sure which side she is truly on) to save the town from the Inhumane Society.

I greatly enjoyed reading this novel. It really made me think and predict what would happen next in the story. I would recommend this to people who like mystery and being intrigued. However, be sure to read the two previous books!

  11. Hello, this is Gavin Goodwin and I recently read the book Old Yeller by Fred Gipson. The main character in the book is Old Yeller. It is narrated by his owner, a little boy living with his family. At the beginning of the book, they find a stray dog and the keep it. His family called him Old Yeller because he was a yellow-ish dog and his bark was more of a yell than a bark.
I liked this book because it was about a great bond and friendship between a boy and a dog. I thought there was a great lesson in the book, which is to always stick together. But I also didn't like the ending. I would recommend this to people who love reading.

  12. Hello, this is Sam Havel. I recently read the book I am Number Four. This book is about an alien in a race called the Lorien. He is dressed like a human acts like a human but is not a human. A rival race of the Lorien are the Mogadorians. The Mogadorians wiped out the whole Lorien race except for 18 people that the Lorien sent to Earth. nine of those people had a spell on them that made it so the Mogadorians had to kill them in order. The main character in this story is number four. Because number 1,2,and 3 are dead now number 4 is being hunted. The main problem in this story is that number 4 really likes the place that he just moved to. He is supposed to keep on the move, but he has a girlfriend and he has friends. This has never really happened before because he always moves before he has any friends. Because he does not move, the Mogadorians find out where four lives and they hunt him down.

  13. Hello, this is Gabriel Lechuga again and I read “The Kill Order” by James Dashner. Mark is the main character. Mark is making the best he can of life after the solar flares that scorched the planet with his friends Alec, Trina, Misty, the Toad, and Darnell. They’re life is then turned upside when an unidentified berg hovers over his town shooting darts at people that carry the flare. Mark and Alec set out to find out who attacked them and they find Deedee. Deedee is a little girl who was struck by a dart but didn’t get sick. She was banished by her people because they thought she brought demons upon them. Mark and his friends come across many cranks and fight to survive to make it to a flat trans in Asheville. The PFC (Post-Flare-Coalition) is also trying to get there and stop them. This book has very little to do with Thomas and this kind of pulled some of the joy from it. Mark was an excellent character but Once you have read the entire series you grow pretty attached to Thomas. I would rate this book 9 of 10 stars because it was very exciting but Thomas only having about ten pages storytime was a little disappointing.

  14. Hello, this is Gavin Goodwin, and I recently read the book New Kid, by Tim Green. In this book the main character, Tommy, was the star on his baseball team. In the middle of the championship game, Tommy's dad interrupts the game, and takes Tommy to New York. When he moved to New York, he was the new kid. At school, on the baseball team, everywhere. Then he joins the baseball team, and they were Liverpool.
I liked this book because I can sort of relate to it. I hadn't played baseball on a team since I was 6. So I was the new kid. But I wasn't as good as he was my first year. I would recommend this book to a person who loves sports. And even if you're not a sports person, I think you would still find it enjoyable.

  16. Hi this is Michael Bayley and I just finished the book Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. In this post I will not give away to much about the eighth HP book, so just relax all you potter heads. If you remember the end of Deathly Hallows, there was a 19 years latter scene. This book is the continuation of that scene. I really liked the way it was written. Instead of your typical story book, it is written as script which I thought I would hate, but I really liked it. I read the entire book in less than twenty four hours because I couldn't put it down. I give it ten out of ten.

  20. Hello this is Max Scxanlon. I recently finished the Revenge of Seven. It is the fifth book in the I am Number Four series.

The main characters are Four, Six, Seven, Nine, Sam, Sarah, Adam, and Ella. In the last book Six, Seven, Nine, Eight, and Five travel to the Everglades to acquire Five's chest. Five ends up betraying them and killing Eight, leaving the others stranded. Ella has also been taken by the Mogadorians and sent to their leader. Now the Loric are separated and it seems like all hope is lost.

In Maryland Four, Sam, Sarah, Malcolm (Sam's dad), and Adam (Four's Mogadorian ally) are hiding out in an abandoned factory. Four is eager to rescue the others, but Adam advises against it. Instead they attack a Pureborn Mogadorian hideout called Ashwood Estates. During the raid they kill Adam's evil father and take control of the base.

Meanwhile in the Everglades Seven, Six, and Nine hear about a Mogadorian base. They think it might have Eight's body, which they want to save. Inside the base they encounter Five, who deliberately lets them take Eight's body and then has the Mogs abandon the base. Six, Seven, and Nine then fly a Mogadorian ship with the help of Adam (who has taken control of the ship from back at the base) to Ashwood Estates. However, shortly after their reunion some members of the US government shows up at the new Loric base. They claim they are no longer working with the Mogs, though most of the Government still is.

Four, Sam, Malcolm, and Nine head to New York, along with some of their new allies, to find the US secretary of defense. It is there that they realize that the Mogadorian invasion of Earth has begun.

The others head to Mexico to find an ancient Loric temple that might help revive Lorien. They have to fight through a pack of Mogs to get in. Once they are inside they put the stuff in their Loric chests and Eight on the altar they awaken Lorien. Lorien speaks through Eight and tells Six, Seven, and Adam that it will now bestow its gifts upon Earth.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone.

  21. Hello, this is Adrian Buczkowski.
Recently I have read the book, The Song of the Quarkbeast, written by Jasper FForde. This is the sequel to an equally great book, The Last Dragon Slayer. In this exciting sequel, King Snodd, one of the main antagonists in the story, tries to seize all of the sorcerers in his kingdom. To do so he arranges a magical competition between the two magic companies in his kingdom, Industrial Magic and Kazam Mystical Arts Management. The main antagonist Blix is head wizard at Industrial Magic, and Jennifer, the main protagonist, works as acting manager of Kazam. Whoever wins the magical competition takes over the other company. Blix is also the court magician for King Snodd, so if he wins all magic will be in the king’s hands. In a fair fight Kazam would easily win, but King Snodd jails most of the leading sorcerers at Kazam. Wizards are naturally disorderly, and are usually so clueless that Jennifer is the only one qualified to think of a solution. Out of ten stars I would rate this book an 8 ½ because it was fast paced, and cleverly told. It was a very enjoyable read.
